Warsaw, Poland, was the site of the signing of the Warsaw Pact. The Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance was another name for this agreement.
The countries of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe joined this alliance in 1955, and it has been in effect ever since. Created in response to the 1949 founding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization by the United States, Canada, and Western Europe, it serves as a counterweight to that organization.
The structure of the Warsaw Treaty might be divided into two sections. The Political Consultative Committee or the Combined Command of the Pact Armed Forces was a part of this.
The desire for the Soviet Union’s dominance over Eastern and Central Europe was the primary motivation for the Warsaw Pact.
Dissension within the Pact started with the Revolutions of 1989 and culminated in its ultimate dissolution in 1991. Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the Soviet Union were the alliance’s founding members.
In 1968, Albania was the first country to officially quit.

U.N. member nations are working toward a variety of objectives. Some examples include respecting international law, supporting sustainable development, preserving human rights, and providing humanitarian help.
Most of the world’s independent nations are also members of the United Nations. A minority, however, does not belong to the group. At the same time, not full members, Vatican City and Palestine enjoy indefinite standing as observer nations.
