Orange Population 2022 Statistics

Orange is a New South Wales city located west of 254 km from Sydney.

With 37,000 people, the city is 13th in terms of population density in NSW. It is also ranked 34th biggest city in terms of population size in Australia.

Based on our findings, the Orange population will increase to 39,722 by the end of June of 2022. We are using a lot of June every year because the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) follows the Australian fiscal year whenever they have pushed the information.

The calculation is made based upon the average growth rate of 1.19 percent over the last ten years, starting in 2011.

We believe that using the latest numbers from the previous years (see our table in the following section) will help make the estimate more precise.

Population Growth of Orange

In the ten years since the last census of Orange’s population, the growth rate has been constant and steady, ranging from 0.86 percent to 1.47 percent, adding between 300-539 people every year to the total population.

When you compare the 2011 and 2016 census, the increase is 6.25 percent over five years of 5 years. The main reason for this increase in population is that the employment rates and the birth rate are stable in Orange.

The population growth seems to be in line with the national population increase. The growth rate and population are similar to the Dubbo, the city adjacent to Dubbo.
