Houston is the largest city in terms of population within the State of Texas with a population of 2.4 million. This is 8 percent of the state’s population.

The city is also the fourth most populated city in the US following New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The city’s name was derived from the former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas. The city is also called “Space City“.

Based on our study, Houston population will increase to 2.427 million by the first day of July 2022. We base our calculations on one day in July every year because the US census bureaus typically publish the estimated population numbers for the same time frame.

The calculation is based upon the average rate of growth of 1.19 percent over the last 10 years starting from the year 2011. We believe that using the latest year’s figures (see our table in the next section) will help to make the calculation more precise.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 49.6 percent of the Houston population is male while 50.4 percent is female. The average age of males is 32, while the average age for females is 34. Therefore, the average age in the state is 33. About 22.6 percent of residents are aged 5 to 19, which is the highest segment.

The top five races for people living in Houston are: White(49.3%),Black(25.3%),Asian(5.3%),Native(0.4%),two or more races(3.2%).

The composition of religion in Houston is 73% of residents of the city were identified as Christian 50 percent of them claiming to attend a variety of churches that are Protestant, with 19% identified with Roman Catholic. 20 percent of people did not declare any affiliation with a religion.
