Most Dangerous Countries in the World 2022

A new edition of the Global Peace Index is released by the Institute for Economics and Peace each year. Only this study analyses how dangerous or safe a country is based on 23 variables, including political terror, fatalities from internal strife, and the murder rate. This is the only one of its type.”

Over 98% of the world’s population is represented among the 163 nations evaluated in the GPI study. Safety and security, ongoing conflict, and militarization are the three main focus areas of the study.

This study is based on various criteria, including the number of violent conflicts inside and outside the country, public mistrust, political instability, the likelihood of terrorist attacks, the number of murders, and military spending as a percentage of GDP.

Each of the 163 countries included in the study receives a score based on these parameters. To put it another way, the lower a country’s score, the more hazardous it is to live there.

There are five degrees of peace: high, medium, low, and extremely low. We’ll concentrate on nations where the level of peace is “extremely low” in this post. 87 nations improved87 nations improved their safety ratings in the Global Peace Index in 2021, compared to 73 that deteriorated.

From 2020 to 2021, the GPI’s average worsened by 0.07 percent. Thirteen nations are classified as having an “extremely low” peace index. Countries with scores over 2.9 are included. According to the World Health Organization, the world’s safest nations have scores between 1.1 and 1.438.

The World’s Most Dangerous Countries

At 3.631 points, Afghanistan is the world’s most hazardous nation. From 2020 to 2021, Afghanistan stayed in this position. As previously mentioned, Afghanistan also has the largest death toll due to the war and terrorism of any nation.

As a result, Yemen is now the second-most hazardous nation globally. According to the United Nations, over the last five years of violence, 4.3 million people have fled their homes, and 14 million people are in danger of famine and epidemics of fatal illnesses.

Humanitarian aid is desperately needed by almost 80 percent of Yemen’s population (24 million people).

The world’s No. 3 most hazardous nation is Syria. Syria’s civil war, which began in March 2011, is the world’s second-deadliest conflict of the twenty-first century. More than 6 million Syrians have been internally displaced as of March 2019.

In third place is South Sudan, with a rating of 3.363. Violent crimes, including kidnappings, robberies, assaults, and carjackings, are common in South Sudan. Violence between government and opposition groups is the primary source of conflict, with little to no rule of law or order outside of Juba.

Iraq has risen from third to fifth in the world’s most dangerous nations. Iraq’s internal and exterior problems, as well as possible terrorist strikes, persist. They continued the ISIS capture and killing of Iraqi civilians and Iraqi military personnel.

In addition to human rights violations, such as restrictions on freedom of assembly and women’s rights. Violence and abduction of U.S. civilians in Iraq are extremely dangerous, and anti-U.S. sectarian groups are often targeted.

If you’re searching for a new place to visit, check out the world’s safest nations. On the list of nations with a “very poor” state of peace are Somalia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Libya, the Central African Republic, Russia, Sudan, and North Korea. Additionally, there are a few nations that are particularly risky for women.
