Fourth World Countries 2022

The phrase “Fourth World Nations” refers to the most impoverished regions of Third World countries. Political links are rare in most of these areas.

People in these countries are either nomadic, hunter-gatherers or belong to one of several tribes. This may be the case for some of these folks. However, their level of life is comparable to that of countries in the Third World.

It’s worth noting that many of these countries can sustain themselves. In contrast, their economic output is far lower than other more industrialized countries.

For example, Aboriginal peoples do not need outside help, yet they do not contribute to the global economy. In most cases, these countries do not appear in global statistics.

Least Developed Countries (LDCs) are the United Nations’ designation for the countries in the Fourth World. As a group, these countries have poorer socio-economic and human development ratings than other countries.

The following countries are classified as LDCs but are also part of the Fourth World.

Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, Comores, Djibouti, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Equatorial Guinea (EGU), Eritrea (EH), Ethiopia (GA), Gambia (GB), Guinea (GB), Guinea-Bissau (GB), Lesotho (LB), Liberia (LI), Madagascar (MA), Malawi (MA), Mali (Mauritania Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Maldives, Nepal, and Yemen are some of the countries in the region.

Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are all located in Oceania. A country in the Caribbean region: Haiti.
