E2 Treaty Countries 2022

Based on a considerable investment in a bona fide company, an E2 treaty investor visa allows foreign entrepreneurs and investors to visit the United States without fear of deportation.

To be eligible to invest, a businessperson or investor must be from a nation with which the United States has signed a Treaty of Commerce and Navigation.

It is permitted for E2 visa holders and their families to travel freely inside and beyond the United States and work lawfully in the firm they are investing in.

E2 visas are valid for up to five years and may be extended for an additional two years if the holder meets the required criteria.

An investor must fulfill several requirements to be eligible for an E2 visa. Investing in an E2 treaty country is required. For example, the investment must be big enough to allow a startup to start and run the firm.

The company in which the investor invests must provide a tangible item or service, and the investor must come to the United States to help the company grow and flourish. E2 visa sponsors may only work for the company that sponsored their E2 visas.

People seeking an E2 visa need to show that the company they are investing their money in is legitimate: a genuine, active business or entrepreneurial endeavor that generates services or items for profit.

Tax returns, financial statements, leasing agreements, vendor agreements, quarterly salary reports, and notification of assignment of an Employer Identification Number from the Internal Revenue Service are examples of documentation that may be presented as evidence (IRS).

Applicants must be citizens of an E2 treaty nation to be eligible to apply for an E2 visa. Legal permanent residents of one of the treaty nations are not allowed to apply for the program.

A treaty nation citizen does not have to presently reside in the country to benefit from the treaty. There are now 78 nations in the E2 group.
