An individual with diabetes has a deficiency in the hormone insulin, which is necessary for the body’s cells to absorb glucose (sugar) from the circulation.

Types of Diabetes

Diabetics are divided into two categories: type 1 and type 2. Both illnesses are long-term, although the degree of dysfunction varies significantly depending on which one you’re dealing with.

When the pancreas fails to create enough insulin, the body processes insulin exactly as intended, but the pancreas does not. To put it another way, type 2 diabetes refers to those who can make their insulin, but their bodies are unable to digest it.
