Central Coast Population 2022 Statistics

Central Coast is a New South Wales region located 77km north of Sydney.

With a population of over 309,000, The city is the 3rd most populous city in NSW. It is also ranked 9th biggest city in terms of population size in Australia.

Based on our findings, the Central Coast population is expected to reach 320,236 at 2022’s end. The end of June is the date we use every year due to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) following the Australian budget when we push the numbers.

This calculation relies upon the annual average increase of 0.67 percent over the last ten years, starting in 2011. Using the latest year’s figures (see our table in the next section) will make the calculation more precise.

Population Growth of Central Coast

In the ten years since the last Census for Central Coast’s inhabitants, the overall growth rate is stable and steady, with a range of 0.63 percent to 0.70 percent, adding between 1,907 to 2,160 individuals each year to the total population.

If you look at the Census of 2011 and the 2016 numbers, the growth rate is just 3.37 percent over a five-year time, increasing 10,029 people. The high population growth is that the employment rate and birth rate have been steady over time.

However, the location is near Sydney and has lower house costs is another reason that attracted people to move here. The population growth rate is lower than the rate of population growth in the nation.
