Cancer Survival Rates by Country 2022

Cancer kills more people than any other disease around the globe. It is the second greatest cause of death in the United States, behind heart disease.

There are aberrant cells that divide and degrade bodily tissue that causing cancer. Almost anybody’s region may be affected, and the condition is contagious.

Chemotherapy, for example, has the potential to put cancer in remission. Because of the high costs and lack of availability in certain countries, these therapies are often out of reach for many people. In addition, therapy does not ensure that a patient’s cancer will be cured.

The 37.5 million data of cancer patients from 71 countries and territories were examined in the CONCORD-3 study. People in 18 different nations were surveyed for five-year survival rates for 18 distinct forms of cancer in adults and children.

According to these statistics, the following countries had the greatest survival rates:

1. United States
2. Canada
3. Australia
4. New Zealand
5. Finland
6. Iceland
7. Norway
8. Sweden

Some countries that aren’t on the list of the world’s best for overall cancer survival rates have high rates for certain forms of the disease.

When it comes to gastrointestinal malignancies, countries in Southeast Asia, including Japan and South Korea, have the best survival rates. However, melanoma survival rates in this area were much lower than in other regions of the country.

The necessity of early identification is commonly mentioned in studies of this kind. Early detection of cancer is critical to a patient’s chance of survival. The less time a patient has to live after a cancer diagnosis, the worse their prognosis will be.
