A total of 22 Arab countries are members of the Arab League, which was established to integrate the Arab countries politically and advocate the interests of the Arab people.

In Africa and Asia, the Arab world is situated. The aggregate size of these countries is more than 5 million square miles. 423 million people live in the world’s total population.

Egypt is the most populous of these countries, home to more than 90 million people. The population of Comoros is only 795,000 people. With 919,595 square miles, Algeria is the biggest Arab country by total area. Only 293 square miles of land make up Bahrain, the smallest nation.

These countries use Modern Standard Arabic as their official language. In addition, certain Arabic dialects are spoken in the workplace. In the Arab world, Islam is the religion of the majority of the population. Arabs make up around a quarter of the world’s Muslims.

Adult literacy rates in the United States are a little under 77%, with women’s literacy rates much lower than men’s. Syria, Lebanon, and other countries have literacy rates over 90 percent, which is a record high.

Cairo, Egypt, has about 16 million people, making it the biggest metropolis in Arab countries. Three of the world’s most populated cities are located in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, respectively: Baghdad and Riyadh.
