Hundreds of millions of people use automobiles every day. As a general rule, automobiles are the most efficient mode of transportation for daily excursions, such as errands and commuting to or from work.
Several nations have a reputation for producing vehicles, including the United States. Many nations import autos because they lack the infrastructure to supply the demand.
Organization for the Production of Motor Vehicles
In 1919, the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles – OICA) was established in Paris, France. Vehicle makers, assemblers, and importers are the primary beneficiaries of the group’s mission.
For this purpose, it links the national automotive associations of member countries and studies problems of common interest relating to the growth and future of vehicle production.
It gathers important information for exchange among members. OICA also sets policies of common interest for members & represents the automobile industry at the international level, particularly with intergovernmental & international organizations.
The dissemination and promotion of industry policies and perspectives is also a function of this body. With 37 members and committees devoted to exhibits, technical, statistics, and communication – the OICA is a formidable organization. There are 37 members of OICA:
